HOW TO PLAY

Crab Crown is a free game for your browser, on a computer or a phone. You and seven bots land on a sunny blocky island, and monsters come for you from every side for 12 minutes (or 4). You pick a weapon and it fires by itself, so you just run, jump and pick your upgrades.

• Move with WASD or the arrow keys. On a phone, drag anywhere.
• Aim by pointing the mouse, or let your weapon pick the closest monster.
• JUMP over monsters with Space, or the JUMP button on a phone.
• Grab the meat that monsters drop to level up, then pick one of three cards: a new weapon, a stronger one, or a perk.
• Go for the volcano: ×1 XP on the beach, ×2 in the palm grove and ×4 in the crater, the BLOOD ZONE, where the bots can hit you too.
• In the last two minutes the Blood Moon rises and The Butcher climbs out of the volcano. When the time is up, the biggest meat on the island wins (the most XP).

P or Esc pauses, and M turns the sound on and off. Crab Crown is in early access, so new things come often.

PRIVACY

To make Crab Crown better, we count how it gets played:

• your rounds: how long, your place, kills, deaths, level and what got you first
• the weapons you pick, and how smoothly the game runs
• phone or computer, your browser's language, and errors if the game breaks

Your browser keeps a random number, so we can tell your rounds apart. It isn't your name, and it changes every 13 months.

The stats go only to 2games.com, encrypted. No names. No cookies. No ads. The stats don't keep your IP address, but our web host keeps standard server logs, which do. We keep the stats for 13 months.

Turn it off and no play stats are sent, and the random number is deleted.

DAILY ISLAND

When you play the DAILY ISLAND, it gives you a name like Salty Mango, and your browser keeps a secret key for it. Your rounds go to 2games.com to be checked, and your best goes on the board under that name, never the name you type (or as "Hidden crab", if you hide it).

The boards stay. When you delete your crab, or it doesn't play for 13 months, its places stay as "Deleted crab", with no name. A name you give up goes to nobody else for a year.

We keep the replay of your best round of a day:

• for 30 days,
• for a year if it's in that day's top 100,
• as long as your crab is around if it's in the top 3.

Rounds that didn't count: 30 days.

In MY CRAB you can hide your name, get a code to play on another device of yours, and delete your crab (on the device you first played on). The board doesn't keep your IP address, but our web host's standard server logs do. Lost that device? A parent can ask us to delete your crab: write to info@2games.com.
